I recently watched a movie titled "Diary of A Tired Black Man" which dealt with men dating and marrying African American Women and how it was found that these women messed the relationships up. I don't live in America but some themes in the movie could be applied to me as a single black woman. I think you can see the movie online. Question...have you ever dated a black woman and was it more difficult than being with someone of a different race?
Please don't treat this as a race thread so feel free to comment no matter what cause we are all one race...human.

i have dated a black female but it was a short relationship to be honest, she was wonderful but what cause the problems between us was she was to possesive.

it wasnt any different to dating someone from another race, i dont think her personality was so different due to her race, its just who she was, i think she had alot of bad experiences in her life and just would not trust me.

What is too possessive? I can understand stalker like behavior and searching of your mobile as going too far. But I don't understand what is meant by too possessive? Did she want to follow you everywhere or something?

well i would be out with my friends and she would call me and id never ignore the call, i would pick up and talk but i would tell her i was with my friends but because we would be out, she would hear females in the back and assume there with us when they werent.

she would ask me to pass the phone to my friends so she could see if i am telling the truth

and that for me is going to far

its a real shame, me and her got along really well and we had alot in common but i was 21 at the time and i just didnt need such a full on relationship, whats sadder for me is i never cheated on anyone but due to her experiences she just would not trust me...cest la vie

They spoke to that in the movie/documentary..how women had bad experiences or a dysfunctional home life or missing fathers and how this later on went on to affect how they managed in relationships. I wondered if it was merely a black thing or a "woman" thing but I think the movie was from the African American perspective.

i think its a woman thing, i understand coming from different backgrounds shapes who you are but if we break it down to raw basics we are men and woman so somethings are the same for us all

Perhaps that is so but mightn't it be that we express it differently?
