Do guys talk about thier past history,if not why.
I am wanting to know if and why most guys don't talk about there past history. To me it makes it a bit harder for a relationship to form when we gals try to be honest and open but we tend to find out more about guys when things happen and it is to late. It is a shame that some guys can't or won't show emotions.

The reason I don't is because it is like bragging. And alot of stuff I would rather forget.

Every time I've tried to be open and honest I get the "I'll call you" only to find out significantly later that I have "baggage." Guys aren't supposed to have feelings or talk all that much for that matter. Any information that cannot be given in one or two sentences doesn't need given (it has gotten far to complex for our tiny little minds.) The best way to get that information is short questions over a long period of time.

usually only with those who understand them like other guys. histories are tricky subjects to broach. It has to feel natural othewise it's trivial.

If you had a "bad history" that was on record would you still tell that person if a real relationship evolved.

I would, personaly.. pasts are weird because we all have insecure feelings about whatever ours is. Major history issues should be put out there, but like i said that's just me. There's nothing that can't be forgiven if a couple is real about their feelings. And we do talk history, but guys are not sure what history is. did I cheat before, do i have an ilicit child i haven't claimed is mine, was i in jail for rape, was i abused as a child, did i kill someone, did i cheat on my sat's, how many girlfreinds have i had, and all the details? it's all open for discussion, but where you need to focus is how to ask us to tell you what our history's are. and as for "if not why" it's because there is either a lack of trust or there's no direct path to talking openly, and maybe a combination of both reasons. guys are simple and sometimes we feel women take advantage of this need for simplicity. It's whether or not we can shape and form bonds that overshadow these gender differences.

I think guys should be able to talk about the past infact anyone should
its clearly in the past for a reason...except i believe some people dont change so i guess depending on what ur past was.....it may put a person off!

Not all women run.
Some are better than other when comes to understanding.
Some people shouldn´t ask if they can´t handle the truth.
But most women want men to show feelings.
I don´t want to date a man that can´t express his feelings, i could just as well go and date a brick wall then.

True. It is of course harder to except a criminal history than other kind of history for example. But still better to find out early on rather than when you are in a long term relationship i would sayJESSY. wrote:I think guys should be able to talk about the past infact anyone should

I think it should matter only the time he is with you, and you two enjoy it, once you have more time he might trust you, just let him do it without any pressure.
