tattoos
Re: tattoos
I think tats r awesome. and as everyone else has been saying..it's a personal preference, so if u like them great, if u dont like them then great..that's ur choice. Personally i like girls with tats, but rly tats r more of a bonus than something that u MUST have for me to like u
.
Also i plan on gettin my first tat pretty soon...it's gonna be a chinese dragon climbing over my left shoulder
oh btw Dominic. IMO, u should get somethin other than a cross on ur arm (no im not saying this because im atheist lol)...i've just seen so many guys with a cross on their arm, it seems like a cross on ur arm is becoming some sort of mainstream tattoo...or maybe there's just a cult in this area, and that's their mark

Re: tattoos
tattoos are a personal choice and should have personal meaning. people who get hearts or butterflies or playboy bunnies tattooed on them are retarded, unless of course they truly are playboy bunnies [or butterflies, i always wanted to have a fling with a butterfly] seriously though, its not your art, and not your body if a person wants to get something inked on themselves that really means something to them then they should have the right to do so and not be criticized by people who don't understand its meaning.

Re: tattoos
That's the problem with the tattoos.
The meaning is different for every person who see it.
And you'll be evaluated by his meaning, not yours.

Re: tattoos
if you cant get over something like that do you really consider yourself mature enough to be in a relationship? really now how are you going to handle really issues that come up? heaven forbid you meet the girl of your dreams, fall in love, in your eyes this girl is perfect in every way then one morning down the road you wake up and find out she's a secret nose picker, she doesn't eat it or anything but conceals it in a Kleenex that she then discretely places under some other Kleenex's in the trash bin. you love her, she loves you, but was afraid to tell you because some guys are judgmental pricks. do you chastise her and dump her or try and work around it? maybe even trying it yourself some day? trust me, its not the end of the world, wait till you find out she likes to sit in the living room naked and eat grapes out of her belly button watching csi when no ones home..

Re: tattoos
I am not against tattoos. If we are talking about one or two tattoos, it doesn't even figure into the equation.
But girl, if you think you are not being judged for having that tattoo on your neck, you are deluding yourself. FreeHookuper is right, it doesn't matter why you got it or what it means. The only thing that matters is what the person in power over you at a given time thinks about it. I'm talkin' about job interview, social worker visits, potential dates, the cop that just pulled you over... whoever. Maybe it makes them an asshole, whatever. I certainly wouldn't defend them. But a fact is a fact. This is why I don't have any.
I'm all about you being your own person, and I'm sure as hell going to be my own person. But you do not live in a vacuum.
By the way, the tattoo is nice. I am not tryin' criticize you. I'm just tellin' you the truth.

Re: tattoos
I appreciate your honesty. I do realize that my tattoo and its location is exactly what some of the posters here are so against. I also understand it’s in a location that's not easily covered up. I didn't just do it on whim I assure you; I spend a long time deciding what to get and where to put it. I also have some text just slightly larger than an eraser riding near the bottom of my pelvic bone, few people see that one or even know its there.
I'm not really too worried about what people think of me, and I'm pretty sure that if that is something that would bother someone that much they probably wouldn't handle the rest of me too well, I’m pretty open minded.
Potential employers are not an issue for me, and my current employer thinks it’s hot. When I am finished my schooling I am becoming an entrepreneur, and should I ever feel the desire to end this career, the career I’ve chosen to follow will not be affected either. Neither of my chosen careers will have me dealing with the public, and the people that I will have to deal with aren’t likely the type to be minding a tattoo here and there.
