The photo he sent are of an actor.(one where you know the face from some where but don't have a name to put with it) He still pops up on me e-mail occationally. I'm glad you didn't send him anything. I caught him when one night in the middle of the conversation I asked him how tall he was. "6'5" " he wrote back... ad said he was 5' 8". got-cha! goo going girl!

I just don't understand why men and women do this to other people. It's totally beyond my conprehension.
OK Nigerian scammers, (no offense to any Nigerian at FreeHookup) are trying to get a little money, which goes a long way there, but even that doesn't justify what they do.
But this particular man.
How does he shave in the morning, look at his face in the mirror, and live with it?

No, that was not his name, his name was Arthur Lee Yates, Blutix2000, also know as Blue due to him owning Blutix dogs in Warsaw, Indiana USA. Yes i spoke with him on the phone every time I was home to answer it. His accent was American.
Thankyou for your understanding everyone means a lot to me.

Sparkles its just a game to them, they have no conscience. One scary thing I should mention he used to tell me he had a grandfather who was Cherokee medicine man. It used to amaze me how Blue could tell me what I was wearing even though he couldn't see me. I know this is very bazaar and unbelievable, and I would understand if you thought I was balmy, but he would describe my clothing accurately, it really spooked me. How could this happen when I am in Australia & he is in Indiana, when he would ring me I definitely heard the American beeps etc. I had his mobile number and rang that a few times. I tried to trace him but you had to pay money and I was not able to afford it. There are a huge amount of Arthur Lee Yates in USA..

No I don't think your barmy. He may have been a total bastard, but he still may have has a psychic gift.
I'm just glad your OK Angelina.
I just find it difficult to understand how someone can live with themselves knowing they've caused another person so much pain.
Just grateful you can be so honest about this, a lot of women would keep quiet about it.
It takes guts to make others aware, especially after it's happened to you.
You're a star,love.

Oh dear I too have gone through many scammers some from Africa and some from other countries and my best friend helped they try to trick, one needs to be aware of what is going on, I had similiar incident where man wanted me to adopted son, 1st one cried he needed money and put out a little icon with tears oh boy did I say good bye to them all ; I can't believe when they say they are contractors but need money the last man said his daughter and him where robbed and then the following week he needed money cause his daughter needed surgery, so now I don't chat as much as I used and I try to keep my eyes and ears open and I am glad my friend was there for me we did a conference in another site and my friend asked this scammer questions and he bounced and NO didn't send money and haven't been scammed since just more alert and cautious now and when I hear London or Africa I delete and don't bother talking with them so thank you thank you for bringing the subject to the front and allowing us to be aware and just to be careful, Mimi

Yes, I had an experience with the same situation....twice! It seems they are always "out of the country"...and deeply in love with you right away....lol and they need money. One of the patterns seem to be profile language does not match IM language, they usually have children (to get sympathy) or a recent death in family (sympathy again), and they always want to go to another network for IM. They also cancel their account/profile once they establish contact with you. Beware !

Scammers are everywhere. I have 13 sets of pictures that are all fake profiles. Some were very obvious in the first 2-3 contacts but 4 were not and all ended up asking for money. Same scenario - Very nice looking men worked in US but due to work traveled overseas. All got stranded due to circumstances and wanted money. 1 each in Nigeria,United Kingdom as he called it, and 2 in Ghana. At the mention of any of these countries do not walk RUN away. I have encountered them on ###, ###, ### personals and even here on FreeHookup.

There are also scammers from Spain that ask for money for their dying mother.

And I felt humiliated because I was also almost scammed - the guy that schmoozed me called himself Jeremy Gray, an orphaned widower with a 14 year old son called George. I realised what was happening when he asked for $1,000 to help with a business deal that could fall apart if he didn't come up with the money and he would repay me the following week when he and his son was coming to Cape Town to meet me. Ah well, you live and learn! Fortunately I work for attorneys and have access to all sorts of resources and was able to check him out and came up with blanks - the guy doesn't exist. Pity - cos the pic was of a damn handsome man and the dream sounded soooo what I was looking for. Well, I'm not giving up - my future husband is out there somewhere!!! To all the women out there, please just be careful and check out anyone who makes contact with you - make dead cert that they are for real before giving your heart away - these guys are professionals and know how to woo a woman.
